Mannington Releases NSF-Verified Environmental Product Declaration for Infinity®RE Carpet Tiles

Mannington has released a second environmental product declaration (EPD), for its Infinity®RE modular carpet tiles.

Infinity RE is a revolutionary carpet backing that diverts carpet tile, one of the largest construction waste streams, from landfills. All carpet backed with Infinity RE is manufactured in Calhoun, GA and contains a minimum of 30% total recycled content, including 10-14% post consumer recycled content by total product weight. Because it has been engineered to Mannington’s high standards of performance, it is warranted never to edge ravel, delaminate, zipper, dome or dish.

Already NSF/ANSI certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product, to the platinum level, Infinity RE has now also been subjected to a full life cycle assessment, verified by two third party reviewers – Sustainable Solutions Corporation and NSF International.

“Many product manufacturers in the building and contraction industry are looking for ways to communicate the environmental performance of their products and services in the marketplace,” said Dave Kitts, Mannington’s VP–Environment. “EPDs have become one of those methods, offering an internationally standardized means of describing a product’s environmental impact, throughout its entire life cycle.”

Recognized in the new LEED V4 Green Building Rating System as well as in GBI’s new Green Globes for New Construction rating tool, EPDs are used by government purchasers, green builders, architects and interior designers to help make more informed product decisions in selecting products that meet their environmental goals. Mannington’s third EPD will be released before year’s end.

Mannington Awarded Gold, Silver at Healthcare Design

Nightingale Awards Recognize Enlighten Sheet and Design Classics Carpet

Mannington Commercial, a leader in flooring for commercial interiors, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Gold and Silver honors for product design, in the 2013 Nightingale Awards. Sponsored by Contract Magazine, The Center for Health Design, and Healthcare Design 2013, the awards showcase the best in product design that contributes to the quality of healthcare.

Winning the Gold award for innovative design for healing environments is Enlighten, a groundbreaking development in the category of resilient sheet. An example of Mannington’s commitment to make the right choices available to customers, Enlighten’s polyolefin/rubber composite formulation – the result of several years of research and development – provides a vinyl alternative choice in a homogeneous sheet ideally suited to the demands of healthcare spaces.

Enlighten combines a strong aesthetic in the right gloss level with high performance, low maintenance, comfort underfoot, and enhanced acoustical properties, as well as 5% post consumer recycled content and 4% rapidly renewable resources.

The Silver award was given to Design Classics, a collection of textured, high-performance modular and broadloom carpet for healthcare and senior living facilities. Designed to work without overwhelming other design elements in a space, the collection brings together lyrically beautiful, large scale patterns in classic and contemporary motifs, paired with a small-scale, modern interpretation of woven fabric. All in a palette of sophisticated colors that help make spaces livable, calming, and luxurious.

The collection is offered on Ultrabac® broadloom backing, with minimum of 10% post-consumer recycled content, and on Integra HP® broadloom and Infinity modular backings, which contain pre-consumer recycled content. Each option is certified NSF/ANSI-140 Platinum or Gold, as environmentally preferable products.

Mannington Announces Relaunch of Classics Collection

Carpet for Senior Living and Healthcare

Mannington Commercial, a leader in flooring for commercial interiors, announces the launch of Classics II, a collection of lyrically beautiful, high-performance broadloom and modular carpets.

The traditional and transitional designs were inspired by nature and historically relevant patterning, stylistically translated to bring a sense of luxury and calm to today’s senior living and healthcare spaces. Three patterns from the highly popular original collection – Kipling II, Yeats II, and Arnold II – are modern takes on classic motifs; for the relaunch, three alternate styles have also been added – Rossetti, Tennyson, and Shelley.

The collection is designed to coordinate with other Mannington broadloom and modular carpets in small, medium and large scales – from the curvilinear subtlety of Kami to the small-scale texture of Serikos. The high performance backing of each carpet can also be chemically welded to resilient sheet, LVT, and other carpet from Mannington, creating coordinated and truly seamless transitions from surface to surface. The collection’s palette of 12 colorways has also been updated, presenting a mix of sophisticated hues.

Antron 6,6 fiber and Infinity®Modular, Integra HP®, and UltraBac®RE backings come together in a performance integrated construction, creating a low maintenance, high durability carpet. Colorsafe bleach warranty, Xguard stain warranty, and other lifetime warranties apply.
