Workplace Current Events

Program Summary

Accredited for health, safety and welfare this course is equal to 0.1 IDCEC CEU/HSW and 1AIA LU/HSW. This CEU was created in partnership with Jane Rohde. In evaluating the multiplicity of change, current events seem inadequate for describing all of the potential changes – as it is not only the workplace that is impacted, but all aspects of our lives. There are tools and processes that can be shared across disciplines to assist with creating a plan to go forward.

There are the immediate changes that will occur, but also on-going approaches to challenges that impact where the workplace is located, how it is shared, and the importance of reinforcing human connection. The goal of the CEU is to evaluate a process for operational programming for now and the future, evaluate lessons learned from healthcare that directly apply to workplace and public space design, and as the world moves forward the importance of being resilient – professionally, personally, and globally. The one thing that is certain is change will continue to occur. Opportunities for innovation and creative solutions are needed. The design community includes the critical thinking capacity that inspires design as a means forward that can positively change the world we live in – now and in the future.
