Our path to a positive impact
Certifications help navigate the world of green marketing claims, but there are a lot of labels in the flooring industry that can be confusing - health care labels, education labels, green building labels and more. These designations are important for architects, designers and end-users, but they are often unclear. This is why we are moving to publicly disclose product-specific information through health product declarations (HPD) and environmental product declarations (EPD) on our website. We are taking steps to develop product EPDs at the specific SKU level, so that our customers have a clear understanding of the environmental impact of each of our products.

A positive impact means full transparency. At Mannington Commercial, all products may contribute to multiple LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) and Green Globes credits. LEED is the world’s most widely used green building rating system, and Mannington Commercial flooring products may contribute to multiple LEED credits. We provide EPDs, HPDs and certifications for our products to assist your process.
Declare is designed to simplify the materials specification and certification process so that designers can easily identify products that meet the stringent requirements of the Living Building Challenge.
EPDs cover data gathered from a comprehensive life cycle assessment of our products’ environmental impact. All our EPDs meet ISO 14025.

The Greenhealth Approved seal indicates a product has been reviewed against a set of sustainability criteria aligned with eligible product categories. The seal was developed to help health care providers make purchasing decisions that further sustainability goals. Choosing products that carry the seal reduces the research burden for health care staff.
Through this verification process of our use of vinyl, from raw materials to finished products, has been independently evaluated for its resource efficiency, emissions, material health, and safety.
NSF/ANSI 140 is a sustainability assessment standard for carpet. It evaluates products based on performance in key areas such as product design, manufacturing, environmental footprint, recycled content, reclamation/recycling programs, and corporate social responsibility. The standard provides a third-party verified framework for manufacturers to demonstrate sustainable practices and helps buyers identify environmentally preferable flooring options.
